Siloxa-Tek 8500 is the most advanced, high performance, industrial strength water based concrete/masonry water repellent solution ever formulated designed to reduce water and moisture intrusion. Approved by the Department of Transportation, protecting a wide variety of mineral substrates including architectural concrete, concrete block, splitface block, pavers, stucco, porous and dense brick, clay tile, exposed aggregate concrete, sandstone, and slate, our unique formula incorporates leading molecular nanotechnology;  putting an end to water and moisture migration through any porous cementitious substrate. Siloxa-Tek 8500 is an uniquely transparent, blended formula with added enzymes and surfactants that aide in accelerating a penetrating disbursement. Thus eliciting a more effective, uniformed chemical reaction between our formula and the concrete / masonry substrate it’s being applied to. Surpassing anything else on the market the Siloxa-Tek 8500 provides a hydrophobic barrier beneath the surface and seals out moisture while remaining highly vapor permeable and chemically bonding with the substrate. The treated surfaces will show no change in visual appearance from application and the surface that will not chip, flake, delaminate or breakdown with UV light exposure.

Precautions: Make sure to avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. All of our products are clear, odorless and nontoxic containing low VOC’s so no respirator is needed when applying our products. Wash your hands after use and do not take internally. Please refer to our product Material Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) before using.

Preparation: The preparation process should be followed to ensure adequate penetration and optimum performance of our sealer. The concrete substrate must be structurally sound, thoroughly dry and clean. Make sure to remove all paints, sealers and/or adhesives before application. The substrate must be clean of oil, grease, dirt, wax, curing compounds, efflorescence and other contaminants that might interfere with the penetration of our sealer. If you are using an acid to clean the concrete, neutralize the surface completely and rinse it with water prior to application. New concrete must be cured at least 28 days before applying Siloxa-Tek 8500. Prior to sealing check your local forecast to make sure that there are no impending threats of perception within 2 days of application.

Prior to Application: We recommend testing the sealer in an inconspicuous area to ensure the desired coverage and appearance is achieved. Please note: Siloxa-Tek 8500 will not repair existing cracks and damage. Make sure the entire surface is completely dry and free of dust, dirt and debris. It is also recommended that you cover all surrounding areas not intended to be coated. Be careful when spraying in windy/breezy conditions since overspray can coat unsuspecting surfaces.

Application: Upon opening Siloxa-Tek 8500 make sure to stir the material before using. We recommend using a low pressure, high volume pump sprayer to apply our sealer. Apply until the surface is saturated but not to the point of puddling. Do not over-apply! If over-spray occurs it should be cleaned and removed immediately after sealing. Apply two coats using a wet-on-wet procedure to ensure complete coverage.

General Application Notes:

New Concrete: New concrete must be cured for at least 28 days before applying Siloxa-Tek 8500.

Application Temperature Limits: 45°F to 95°F. The reaction of Siloxa-Tek 8500 will be slowed at low temperatures. In these cases the concrete should be protected from freezing for six days.

Drying Time: 24 hours.

Number of Applications Required: Apply two coats using a wet-on-wet procedure to ensure complete coverage.

Time Requirements for Sealing to be Completed: Maximum water repellency is achieved in 72 hours depending on environmental condition. Beading generally improves over time.

Color: Dries clear. This product does not change the overall appearance of the substrate. After the material is applied and allowed to dry for 24 hours, it will not be readily apparent that the application has occurred.

Sheen: No sheen but water will bead off the surface exhibiting excellent water repellency. (Water beading visibility will increase over time)

Painting or Coating Preparation: We do not recommend painting or applying a coating after sealing with Siloxa-Tek 8500.

Duration of Effectiveness: Siloxa-Tek 8500 will last around 10 years before it needs to be reapplied.

Dry Time: Make sure you test the surface for dryness prior to use and allow at least 24 hours before walking or allowing traffic on the concrete to obtain the maximum benefits of the application.

Maintenance: Occasional cleaning as needed.

Storage/Shelf Life: Six months in an unopened container when stored between 50-80 degrees F.

• Product will last for approximately 10 years. If water beading effect begins to fade over time, reapply another coat of Siloxa-Tek 8500.
