Penetrating Corrosion Inhibitor Iso-Tek™ 8511
An amino infused corrosion inhibitor for structural and steel reinforced concrete. This dual-action formula impregnates while passivating the rebar, inhibiting carbonization and moisture intrusion.
A corrosion inhibitor designed for structural and steel-reinforced concrete. This dual-action formula impregnates concrete and cementitious substrates while passivating the rebar; inhibiting rust, carbonization and moisture intrusion.
Inhibits the electrochemical corrosion process between the steel (re-bar), chloride ions, oxygen and moisture within concrete.
This chemical process dramatically reduces the rate of oxidation in contaminated concrete by forming a protective barrier on the surface of the reinforced steel while simultaneously protecting against the absorption of water-soluble deleterious materials.
Not just a preventative, Iso-Tek 8511 can actually eliminate existing corrosion. Independent testing shows 1 application significantly decreases the corrosion process steadily – for 6 months and beyond.
Provides a flat, natural finish and dries completely transparent with no visual change to the aesthetics. Once cured the concrete will return to its natural appearance.
Surface Preparation
Application
Dry Time
Typical drying time is 4-6 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Cooler temperatures or higher relative humidity can extend the drying time. Treated surfaces will be ready for pedestrian and vehicle traffic within 24 hours.
Clean Up
Clean equipment and tools with mineral spirits. Unused or old material may be disposed of in a waste disposal site in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
Precautions/Safety
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing, do not take internally. Use appropriate safety equipment during application and handling. Please refer to the safety data sheet (SDS) for additional precautionary instructions before use. For medical emergencies only, call ChemTrec (1-800-424-9300).
Best Performance
Coverage:
1 coat: 150 - 250 square feet per gallon. 2 coats: 75 - 125 square feet per gallon. Variations in texture and porosity of substrate will affect the coverage and performance of the product.
