High Gloss Durable Coating Wear-Tek™ 4400
A high gloss moisture cured urethane that produces a hard-wearing and chemically-resistant surface. Industrial grade, solvent-based and non-yellowing. Available clear or colored.
Designed to outperform and outlast acrylic sealers, this durable, moisture cured urethane has an extremely long service life. Will not delaminate, peel or yellow. Treated surfaces resist chemicals, abrasions, staining and surface deterioration.
Supplied as a single component product and applied with a solvent-rated sprayer, roller or brush. The 4400 can be used on a variety of interior and exterior decorative and industrial surfaces. Not only can this urethane be used indoors, but it is able to withstand heavy traffic and weathering elements outdoors as long as a waterproofing primer is used prior to application.
A high gloss / wet look finish makes this product unique bringing life into dull concrete to brighten and keep it vibrant and colorful. This unique formula will not yellow, fade, chip or delaminate and can keep concrete looking glossy for years longer than an acrylic coating. Available clear or in 24 standard colors. Colors can also be specially matched to any color of your choosing.
Surface Preparation
Application
Wear-Tek® 4400 may be applied by brush or airless spray technique in a thin, even coat. Care should be taken to avoid creating foam or trapping air bubbles which may later result in pinholes or hazing. If two coats are applied, apply the second coat within 6-8 hours of applying the first coat. If traction enhancement is required, iron-free sharp white quartz sand or Soft Sand Rubber Granules may be broadcast onto the wet Wear- Tek® 4400. After the first coat has thoroughly dried with the embedded sand, a second coat of Wear-Tek® 4400 is applied to thoroughly encapsulate the aggregate. Sized and graded sharp white quartz sand and Sand Rubber Granules are available.
Dry Time:
Typical drying time for walking is 2 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Typical drying time for a full cure is 24 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Cooler temperatures or higher relative humidity can extend the drying time
Clean Up:
Clean equipment, tools and surfaces with xylene. Unused or old material may be disposed of in a waste disposal site in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
Precautions/Safety:
Use appropriate safety equipment during application and handling. Please refer to the safety data sheet (SDS) for additional precautionary instructions before use.
Maintenance:
To repair damaged areas, coarse sanding should be followed by thorough cleaning with fresh water. Wear-Tek®4400 may then be reapplied to the clean, dry surface.
