Wear-Tek 4400 is available as a clear transparent glossy coating or as a pigmented colored material. It is an excellent choice for warehouse floors or exterior decorative concrete. It provides a longer lifespan than solvent based acrylic concrete sealers and is easy to apply. Will not delaminate, peel or yellow since it is extremely UV resistant.

  • Preparation

    1. The concrete substrate to be coated must be clean, dry, and completely free of loose particles, grease, oil, or any substance that would interfere with proper bond.
    2. Surface and air temperatures must be at least 35°F during application. Surface and air temperatures should not exceed 95°F. Keep material from freezing. Do not apply during inclement weather or when inclement weather is expected within 12 hours. Application must be protected from precipitation for at least 4 hours.
    3. Protect people, property, vehicles, window glass, roofing materials, plastic products, shrubbery, landscaping and all surfaces not set for treatment from overspray.
  • Application

    Wear-Tek® 4400 may be applied by brush or airless spray technique in a thin, even coat. Care should be taken to avoid creating foam or trapping air bubbles which may later result in pinholes or hazing. If two coats are applied, apply the second coat within 6-8 hours of applying the first coat. If traction enhancement is required, iron-free sharp white quartz sand or Soft Sand Rubber Granules may be broadcast onto the wet Wear- Tek® 4400. After the first coat has thoroughly dried with the embedded sand, a second coat of Wear-Tek® 4400 is applied to thoroughly encapsulate the aggregate. Sized and graded sharp white quartz sand and Sand Rubber Granules are available from KreteTek Industries Inc.

  • Application Notes

    Dry Time:

    Typical drying time for walking is 2 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Typical drying time for a full cure is 24 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Cooler temperatures or higher relative humidity can extend the drying time

    Clean Up:

    Clean equipment, tools and surfaces with xylene. Unused or old material may be disposed of in a waste disposal site in accordance with local, state and federal laws.


    Use appropriate safety equipment during application and handling. Please refer to the safety data sheet (SDS) for additional precautionary instructions before use.


    To repair damaged areas, coarse sanding should be followed by thorough cleaning with fresh water. Wear-Tek®4400 may then be reapplied to the clean, dry surface.

    Best Performance

    • If two coats are applied, apply the second coat within 6-8 hours of applying the first coat.
    • Proper application is the responsibility of the user.
    • Make sure the most current versions of technical data sheets and safety data sheets are being used.
    • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
    • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid opened containers, as moisture will cure the material.
